A Note from Aishah

First things first, welcome!!! I’m Aishah, it’s pronounced I-Easha, I know, I know, it don’t look like it, I think my mom was still tripping off the meds when she spelled it out! Anywhooooo,I bet you’re probably wondering, who is this girl (you can find that on the About Me page) and why did she decide to make a blog? Well, I’ve been in church my whole life and like anyone who’s been in church their whole life, I’ve seen a lot, heard a lot and experienced A LOT.! And most of the time, I just went along with stuff because you know, that’s what you do when you’re in church! There were so many topics that were just straight up TABOO in church, so that means no one ever talked about it.! It wasn’t until I decided to take a sabbatical from church that I finally got a dose of reality! And I mean it gave me a com-plete-ly (and yes I added the dashes for proper ebonic translation) new outlook on church, God and life as a whole! I’ve grown so much from being outside the church that it has helped me in my journey back inside of church! Now that I’m back, I have a fresh outlook and a realist approach (and for the super deep saints, no that doesn’t mean what you’re probably thinking but don’t worry, I’ll get back to y’all later on that). SOOOOOO, I decided to create a platform where I can share the things I’ve learned on my journey and the things I am learning daily, because life has a way of making you a forever learner.  I don’t profess to be perfect, or to have all the answers, but my prayer is that I can create a space to be real and transparent about my life in such a way (ooohhh that was super churchy of me) that others will be inspired and transformed.!
